  • Orioles' Cedric Mullins: Walks off Twins

    Rotowire

Mullins went 1-for-4 with a walk-off, two-run home run during Wednesday's 4-2 win against the Twins.

Mullins extended his hit streak to nine games and has clubbed homers in three of the past four contests. The 29-year-old has rebounded from a poor start to the season and has a .259/.308/.552 slash line with five home runs, three steals, 15 RBI and 14 runs through 17 games.

  • Orioles' Craig Kimbrel: Earns third win

    Rotowire

Kimbel (3-0) earned the win Wednesday against the Twins after he retired all three batters he faced in the ninth inning. He had one strikeout.

The veteran right-hander entered for the top of the ninth in a 2-2 tie and retired the side in order on 12 pitches, and he picked up the win when Cedric Mullins launched a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame. Kimbrel allowed a run in his season debut but has since delivered seven straight scoreless appearances, and he has a 0.29 WHIP and 12:0 K:BB with four saves and two wins during that stretch.

  • Orioles' Albert Suarez: Fires 5.2 scoreless frames

    Rotowire

Suarez allowed three hits and no walks over 5.2 scoreless innings during Wednesday's 4-2 win versus Minnesota. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

The 34-year-old was a surprise selection to start Tuesday, which was his first MLB appearances since 2017, but he pitched well with 14 swinging strikes on 75 pitches and allowed just four baserunners. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, manager Brandon Hyde said Suarez will get additional turns through the rotation, which isn't a major surprise given his performance and the numerous injuries Baltimore is managing to its rotation.

  • Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Sharp in first rehab start

    Rotowire

Bradish (elbow) yielded just one hit and struck out four over three scoreless innings in his first rehab start with Double-A Bowie on Tuesday.

Bradish needed just 44 pitches to cruise through his three frames and was hitting 95-to-96 mph on the radar gun, per Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com. It's a terrific first step for the right-hander as he works his way back from a partial UCL tear in his right elbow. Bradish will need a handful of rehab outings before rejoining the Orioles' rotation.

  • Orioles' Albert Suarez: Draws start Wednesday

    Rotowire

The Orioles selected Suarez's contract from Triple-A Norfolk and will have him start Wednesday's game against the Twins at Camden Yards.

Suarez will be making his first appearance in the majors since 2017, when he tossed 31.2 innings out of San Francisco's bullpen. He had spent the last five seasons overseas in Japan and Korea before making his return to affiliated ball this winter, when he signed a minor-league deal with Baltimore. Though he didn't secure a spot on Baltimore's Opening Day roster, Suarez didn't have to wait long for a call-up while logging a 5.87 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB in 15.1 innings over three appearances (one start) for Norfolk. He'll be stepping into the rotation spot that opened up after Tyler Wells (elbow) was placed on the injured list, but Suarez may be in line for just one start before heading back to the minors. John Means (elbow) is set to make the fourth start of his rehab assignment Wednesday and could be ready to return from the IL when the Wells/Suarez spot in the Baltimore rotation comes up again next week.

  • Orioles' David Banuelos: Exits 40-man roster

    Rotowire

Baltimore designated Banuelos for assignment Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Banuelos was with the big club for just one day, flying out in a pinch-hit appearance in his major-league debut in Tuesday's 11-3 win over the Twins. The Orioles have yet to announce a corresponding move, but they still need to add a starting pitcher to the roster for Wednesday's series finale.

  • Orioles' Ryan O'Hearn: Homers in third straight game

    Rotowire

    O'Hearn went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 11-3 win over Minnesota.

O'Hearn provided the final blow in a lopsided Orioles victory, smacking a two-run homer that just cleared the center field wall to extend Baltimore's lead to 11-3 in the eighth inning. O'Hearn's now homered in three straight games while going 6-for-13 in that span. Overall, he's slashing .333/.400/.689 with four homers, 11 runs scored and six RBI through his first 14 games this season.

    Rotowire

Westburg went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Tuesday's 11-3 win over the Twins.

Westburg helped break the game open in the third inning, launching a two-run shot off Chris Paddack to extend Baltimore's lead to 6-0. The 25-year-old Westburg has recorded at least one hit in five straight games, going 10-for-20 with two home runs and six RBI in that span. He's now slashing .316/.381/.614 through his first 64 plate appearances this year with four homers, two stolen bases, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored while serving as Baltimore's primary third baseman.

    Rotowire

Rodriguez (3-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Twins, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out six.

The 24-year-old right-hander has a 2.63 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB through his first 24 innings after going 7-4 with a 4.35 ERA as a rookie last year. Rodriguez is currently lined up for a road start early next week against the Angels.

  • Orioles' Livan Soto: DFA'd by O's

    Rotowire

The Orioles designated Soto for assignment Tuesday.

Soto has now been designated for assignment four times since the beginning of February -- twice by both the Orioles and Angels. He'll go through the waiver process and could perhaps draw interest from the Halos again, or another organization may be willing to take a chance on the 23-year-old infielder.

  • Orioles' Tyler Wells: Placed on 15-day IL

    Rotowire

The Orioles placed Wells on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

The assignment to the 15-day injured list is retroactive to April 13. Wells allowed four runs on six hits and a walk over four innings with three strikeouts in his last outing Friday. It was his second loss of the season as he fell to 0-2. The 29-year-old was supposed to start Wednesday, so the Orioles will have to make another move or fill in the spot with someone on the roster.

  • Orioles' David Banuelos: Selected from Triple-A

    Rotowire

The Orioles selected Banuelos' contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

Banuelos will give the Orioles additional depth behind the plate, though he isn't expected to see much playing time behind Adley Rutschman and James McCann. He's appeared in just two games at Triple-A this year, going 3-for-11 with a home run and two RBI, and he will be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game. Tyler Wells (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move, and Livan Soto was designated for assignment in order to clear space on the 40-man roster.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Not in Tuesday's lineup

    Rotowire

Mountcastle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Mountcastle is off to a hot start this season with a .305/.368/.492 slash line through 15 games, but he'll take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Ryan O'Hearn will shift to first base while Adley Rutschman rests his legs as the designated hitter.

  • Orioles' Cionel Perez: Throwing off mound

    Rotowire

Perez (oblique) has been throwing bullpen sessions and will be ready for a live batting practice session soon, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Perez would presumably be asked to make a rehab appearance or two before returning, but that should be around the corner. The left-handed reliever has been out since the opening weekend of the season with a right oblique strain.

  • Cedric Mullins, Orioles look to topple Twins

    Stats

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Three hits, two RBI in win

Westburg went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 7-4 win over the Twins.

Westburg opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning, and the Orioles never trailed. Westburg is slashing .302/.373/.547 with three homers, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles and two stolen bases through 60 plate appearances. He's in no danger of losing the starting job at third base as long as he's hitting well.
