Brian Davis is an American Meteorologist working for WDTN-TV as the Chief Meteorologist. He joined WDTN in 1982 and him being a member of Storm Team 2, Davis is the meteorologist for Dayton’s CW at 10, and 2 NEWS on your side at 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 pm.
Davis attended Wright State University and later went to Purdue University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science in 1981. He joined the station in 1982 after working at Weather Station, Inc., in Norman, Oklahoma. Brian is a member of the American Meteorological Society.
Two years after graduating, he was awarded by the American Meteorological Society its “Seal of Approval.” Additionally, he received continuing education in Doppler Radar Meteorology in Vail, Colorado. In 2001, the Associated Press awarded Storm Team 2 1st place as Outstanding Weather Operation.
Besides his work as a meteorologist, Davis is an active member of the community as he involves himself in the Dayton area community, including being a member of the Dayton Cycling Club and Honorary Chairperson of the “Young’s Multiple Charity Bike Tour.” The organization raises funds for URS, Alzheimer’s Association, Juvenile Diabetes, and Wellness Connection, and all funds raised stay in the Miami Valley.
He is also an avid tennis player, plays for the 4.0 team, and also co-captains the 3.5 United States Tennis Assoc. team at Wright Patt. During his free time, he also enjoys music, cycling, weather, and spending time with his family. His favorite music is Classical: Brahms and Beethoven, Country: Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Rock: Led Zeppelin, and Elton John.
