One of my favorite Christmas traditions is baking cookies with my kids. We typically host a cookie exchange for my daughter's friends, so we are often baking up a storm. One of our favorite cookies to make are snickerdoodles. If you have ever had those yummy, cinnamon sugar treats then you know why. We love the flavor of maple and decided to add some to our traditional cookie recipe and the results were amazing!   • granulated sugar
  • brown sugar
  • maple syrup
  • vanilla extract
  • egg
  • baking soda
  • all purposeflour
  • ground cinnamon
  • cream of tartar
  • salt

How to make this easy snickerdoodle recipe with maple

To make this yummy maple snickerdoodles cookie recipe, start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees. Prepare your cookie sheetswith parchment paper. This will make clean up a breeze.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in the mixing bowl. In a stand mixer, cream the butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy. Add in the maple syrup, vanilla, and egg in with the butter and sugar mixture and beat until all of the ingredients are well combined.

In the large bowl sift the dry ingredients.

Slowly, a little at a time add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Cover the bowl and place the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to chill.

After the dough has been chilled, scoop out the dough and roll it into 1 ½ balls. Roll the dough balls in the cinnamon sugar.
